What is Traffic light living?
When driving we must obey traffic laws or suffer the consequences. Even if you’ve never gotten behind a wheel or know how to drive, we can all safely so that we understand that these signaling devices positioned at road intersections, pedestrian crossings, and other locations to control flows of traffic and to keep us all safe.

GREEN MEANS GO- Green light allows traffic to proceed in the direction denoted, if it is safe to do so and there is room on the other side of the intersection.
YELLOW MEANS SLOW DOWN- The amber light warns that the signal is about to change to red.
RED MEANS STOP– The red signal prohibits any traffic from proceeding.
Now that we have a basic understanding of traffic laws, let’s put them into use as it relates to our physical and mental health.

Mental traffic light
The traffic light technique as it relates to our emotional and mental health helps impulse to flow through us without causing damage. When you feel angry, anxious, how can you coordinate through those feelings? The traffic light technique is a useful way in managing our reactions.
1. Red light– Stop, calm down and think before acting
2. Yellow light– Talk about the problem, giving words to how you feel. Propose a positive goal and think about several possible outcomes and their consequences.
3. Green light– Move forward and put the best plan into action.
The gateway to happiness is to cultivate a more trustful heart. Becoming emotionally intelligent has nothing to do with your IQ or intellectual capacity. But self-awareness, empathy and compassion all play an important role in the way we live. When we become emotionally intelligent we learn to be more conscious of ourselves, thoughts, feelings and emotions, we come to understand manage and express our emotions in a healthy constructive way. We are better able to communicate clearly and maintain good relationship in our work and family. And are in turn better able to recover from difficult situations, encourage ourselves and find solutions to problems and achieve what is important to us.
Physical Traffic light
Here I am referring to the way we eat.
GREEN CATEGORY– Eat as much as you like
YELLOW CATEGORY– Slow down or eat in moderation.
RED- STOP AND THINK (Ask yourself , what is a healthier alternative?)

TrafflicLightEating – FINAL
As a cancer fighter, I’ve learned there is a connection between the mind and the body. Something I believe we have always known but have taken for granted until disease strikes. Health and emotions are closely related. Positive thoughts give rise to opportunities for health and growth. The same goes for healthy foods.
