LIVER CLEANSING CURE (DAY 1)
The liver is one of those organs that we often take for granted. It’s responsible for eliminating toxins from our bodies. Every now and then it’s good to cleanse the liver. This helps to promote its capability to neutralize toxins.
Some reasons why you may want to cleanse the liver are:
- Bad liver function
- Drug abuse
- Chemical substance poisoning
- Overweight or obesity
- Skin rashes or eczema
Some of the most beneficial foods for the liver are
- Cabbage
- Radish
- Carrot
- Garlic
Breakfast
Whole lemonade smoothie
Ingredients:
1 organically grown lemon
400ml of water
10 drops of stevia (can substitute with 1tbsp of molasses, maple syrup or honey.)
Directions: Chop the lemon, eliminate the portion of the rind so that the flavor is not as intense, add the water and sweetener and mix in a blender until achieving a smooth liquid.
Benefits: Weight reducing, liver protective, effective anti-carcinogenic against breast, prostate and colon cancer, among others.
Mid-Morning
Whole grape juice
Ingredients: 1 ½ cup of grapes (preferably red or black)
Directions: Remove stems, place in blender and crush until smooth, strain to eliminate larger seed fragments and consume immediately
Benefits: Activates blood circulation in the hepatic portal system
Lunch
Liver cleanse juice
Ingredients: 1 cup of Lombard(red) cabbage, 3 carrots, 1 apple, 2 tbsp of lemon juice
Directions: Once rinsed, process ingredients in juice extractor, add lemon, stir and drink
Benefits: Detoxifies and protect liver
Mid Afternoon
Hibiscus Tea Infusion (can be taken cold)
Ingredients: Hibiscus flower, lemon, small mint leaf
Directions: boil one half cup of dried hibiscus calyces in tow liters of water for 2 minutes, set aside for 10 minutes and strain, sweeten with stevia ( few drops of lemon juice and mint leaf optional)
Benefits: Hypotensive, artery protective, low in cholesterol, antioxidant, anti-diabetic, liver protection, weight reducing.
Dinners
Chia Water
Ingredients: 4tbsp of chia seeds, 6 tbsp of lemon juice, 4 cups of water
Directions: soak the chia seeds in a cup of water for about 30 minutes until its gelatinous -appearance soluble fiber is released, place this water and seeds in a blender and crush until achieving a paste, add the remaining water and the lemon, stir in order to blend thoroughly, add 12-16 drops of liquid stevia extract.
